Common questions

Can I download PocketTerm now?

Not publicly yet. PocketTerm is in active development and release details will be published here when a TestFlight or App Store build is available.

Which devices does PocketTerm support?

The current codebase runs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The touch workflow is designed for iPhone and iPad, while iPad and Mac can also show two live terminal sessions side by side.

What can it connect to?

PocketTerm connects over SSH to computers and servers you are authorised to use. It supports password authentication, imported or generated ed25519 keys, RSA OpenSSH private keys, passphrase-protected keys, ProxyJump hosts, SFTP, tmux, and local port forwarding.

Does Walldoff Studios receive my credentials or terminal data?

No publisher-operated PocketTerm endpoint receives them. Connections go directly to the host you select. Credentials and trusted host fingerprints are stored in the device Keychain, while terminal commands, output, and files are exchanged with the remote systems you choose.

What syncs through iCloud?

PocketTerm can mirror non-secret host metadata through your private iCloud key-value store. Passwords, private keys, passphrases, trusted host fingerprints, and per-tmux notification choices do not sync through PocketTerm.

Can a terminal keep running after iOS suspends the app?

No iOS app can reliably continue arbitrary SSH work after suspension. PocketTerm is built around tmux so work can continue on your server and be reattached when the app returns.
